The Development of Edgecumbe Doctor 360°

We designed our question set in 1998. Based on Good Medical Practice, the question set was developed in focus groups at Trafford General Hospital and Kidderminster Hospital. Statistical tests on the data collected have shown its high degree of reliability with good face and content validity.

The colleague questionnaire comprises 37 questions on:

• Clinical care
• Maintaining good medical practice
• Relationships with patients
• Working with colleagues
• Teaching and training

The patient questionnaire has 15 questions that explore the doctors’ interaction with patients. Doctors also complete a self-assessment.
